Marc's interest in finance started in middle school when his parents opened their first investment account and received a copy of "How to Buy Stocks" by Louis Engel. The book was Marc's first exposure to the financial markets and the potential to build wealth through investing and remains on his bookshelf to this day.
Marc joined Praetorian Guard in 2013 after reconnecting with Dick Hewitt and Joe Clark, former colleagues at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he taught courses in the Principles of Economics, Money and Banking, the Economics of National Security, and Personal Finance. As a CFP® Professional, Marc believes financial planning should expand opportunities, preserve flexibility, and help clients make informed decisions as their lives, careers, and priorities evolve. He enjoys working with individuals and families seeking a long-term advisory relationship built on trust, thoughtful guidance, and disciplined planning.
Prior to joining the firm, Marc served for 20 years in the United States Army as an aviation officer and strategist, with assignments throughout Europe, Asia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Economics from the United States Military Academy and a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University, where he focused on economics and public policy. Marc has held the CFP® designation since 2015.
Marc lives in Arlington, Virginia, with his wife, Ashleigh. They have two adult sons. Outside of work, he enjoys travel, music, films, and attending live sporting events.
