Evan R. Davies

Evan's interest in financial planning grew from 20 years in the U.S. Army, where he helped Soldiers and families work through important financial decisions on a pro bono basis. At West Point, he rebuilt a cadet financial literacy course and wrote financial education articles for fellow servicemembers. Those experiences inspired his transition into financial planning.

Evan joined Praetorian Guard for its culture of military service, fiduciary responsibility, and educational approach. He helps transitioning and retiring service members, small business owners, entrepreneurs, and families make informed decisions about retirement, equity compensation, concentrated stock positions, charitable giving, college funding, and major lifestyle goals.

Evan holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an M.S. in Personal Financial Planning from the College for Financial Planning, and a B.S. in Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He became a Certified Financial Planner® professional in 2016.

His Army career began as an Armor and Cavalry officer with two combat deployments to Iraq. He later served as an Assistant Professor of Economics before transitioning into Operations Research and Systems Analysis, with assignments in the Pentagon's Army Aviation Directorate and U.S. Cyber Command.

Evan lives outside Annapolis, Maryland, with his wife and their three children. Outside of work, he enjoys trying to hit a golf ball straight more often than he slices it and has played drums for most of his life in cover bands ranging from classic rock to country music. When he is not working with client families, he is usually on a sports field, in a gymnastics gym, or at a hockey rink supporting his children's athletic endeavors...

...including Navy Youth Hockey, even as a West Point grad!
